We just got back from a week of camping. The boys had a great time, I had a great time.
As for the knitting, I have eight more tiers of the Entrelac socks before I'm done. I wasn't able to knit as much as I would have liked.
Posting may be a little sporadic for the next few weeks since Hubby is on vacation and we have a few more trips planned. I'll do my best though.

Really, I'm not
A sock knitter that it. Or at least I don't really consider myself one. Though you wouldn't be able to tell from the last five eight projects I have completed. I even have a pair on the needles as we speak.
Socks, we all need them and we can wear them year round especially where I live. Sweaters, not so much, especially when the temperature seems to hover over 95 degrees during the summer months.
When I first learned how to knit, if I were to knit something they were going to be on big needles, afterall, I like instant gratification. In fact one of the first gifts I made were some socks knit on size US 8/5mm, they were knit flat and then seamed.
The thought of knitting on needles smaller than a US 5/3.75mm was something that I just did not want to do.
Fast forward four years and I think I have made at least twenty pair. Some for me but mostly for others.
Here is a pic of some of the most recent socks I finished.

My next project big/main project will be something other than socks, though I probably will have a pair on the needles for the mindless Michelle's in the passenger seat knit.

Adding on
Look what I started on this weekend.
Entrelac Socks from IK spring 2007. The woven look of these socks, can I just say love. I keep trying them on as I go and they are soooo comfy.
The socks are on my Summer Knitting List and are intended for my mom, but I think I am going to have to add on (yet again) to the list because now I want a pair for myself. If you look over at my sidebar you can see where I stand with the list.
Though the original list started with eight and now I am up to eleven. How much do I actually think I will get done? How many do you think I will get done?

Plan B
I wanted to take the kiddos to the Los Angeles Children's Museum in Downtown, but when I was looking them up I found out the museum was closed. I called to see if it was a temporary type of thing, but the number was no longer in service.
I truly hope that it is a temporary thing and they do open again. I have very fond memories of that place as a child and would love for my children to have the experience.
I went with plan B, Kidspace Museum in Pasadena.

The boys had a wonderful time.
I almost forgot. Look what I did.
I dyed it for my sister. We were talking about colors and she mentioned that she loved green, all shades which gave me the great idea to dye some yarn for her and then make her some socks out of the yarn.
The only thing is, I like looking at the hank so much, I may never knit it, let alone part with it.
How wrong would I be if I just give her a pic of the yarn?

Peb's Mat
This is one of the things that I worked on this weekend.
I love the stitch pattern, which is the Spot Stitch. Very simple and yet effective.
The way I see it, she should have something nice to eat off of and we couldn't find a mat that either of us agreed on.

When I woke up this morning, this was the first thing I saw.
Then I turned around.
Have a great weekend!

Holiday
Yesterday we celebrated Independence Day. For the last nine years out community has hosted a fireworks show. As a result, we have hosted a little get together for our family.
The boys got into the spirit by having their face painted by me.

If you look close enough, you can see the black eye just above the American Flag on K. Three days before he fell on his scooter and the handlebar hit him just below the eye. We are lucky because his eye could have been so much worse.
This is what we were able to see from our front yard.
I hope you had a great holiday.
